Onshore & Offshore Wind Farm Case Studies

Our Experience in Renewable & Offshore Wind Projects

Having worked across the globe, we have an in-depth understanding across a broad spectrum of renewable energy construction types and our experience includes working with clients on the following:

  • Onshore wind farm projects
  • Offshore wind farm projects
  • Offshore wind farm HVDC converter stations
  • Offshore wind farm AC stations
  • Sub-sea cabling projects
  • Solar projects

Case Studies

50MW Onshore Wind Farm – Europe

Appointed delay and quantum experts in a matter relating to an onshore wind farm project. The renewable energy project scope consisted of wind turbine generators (WTG’s), array cabling, substation and connector cabling, all contributors to renewable energy projects. Kenzie analysed the submitted Delay in Start Up (DSU) claim and independently calculated the period of interruption caused by the indemnified event. We further calculated the additional costs and loss of revenue, incurred as a consequence. The matter was settled following mediation.

70MW Onshore Wind Farm – Europe

Appointed quantum expert in a matter relating to an onshore wind farm project. Kenzie analysed the submitted business interruption claim and independently calculated the loss of revenue due to the transformer damage. The BI calculation factored in during the period of interruption the average power generated, the actual sales rate, the planned maintenance downtime and the availability of the WTG’s. The renewable energy project matter was settled following negotiations.

800MW Offshore Wind Farm – Europe

Appointed Kenzie (delay and quantum experts) in a matter relating to an offshore wind farm project. The £1bn project scope consisted of an offshore wind farm HVDC converter station, onshore substation, connector and land cabling. Kenzie represented the defendant (the EPC contractor) in an arbitration pursued by the offshore wind farm platform fabricator. We were instructed to prepare a delay counter claim and evaluate variations regarding the renewable energy construction matter. Testimony was given to the international arbitration tribunal on four separate occasions.

916MW Offshore Wind Farm – Europe

Delay and quantum experts, Kenzie Group, were appointed in a matter relating to an offshore wind farm project. The £1bn project scope consisted of an offshore wind farm HVDC converter station, onshore substation, connector and land cabling. Kenzie represented the claimant (the EPC contractor) in a litigation against the client before they were instructed to prepare a prolongation and disruption claim in excess of £100 million.

350MW Offshore Wind Farm – Europe

Appointed delay and quantum experts in a matter relating to an offshore wind farm project. The £50M renewable energy project scope consisted of offshore wind farm HVDC converter station equipment and an onshore wind farm substation. Kenzie represented the claimant (the EPC contractor) in a litigation against the client before they were then instructed to prepare a prolongation and disruption claim in excess of £25 million. The offshore wind farm-related matter was settled following negotiations.

440MW Offshore Wind Farm – UK

Kenzie, appointed delay experts, were appointed in a matter relating to an offshore wind farm and its renewable energy construction. The claim concerned damage to the offshore wind farm’s connector cabling. Kenzie analysed the submitted Contingent Delay in Start Up (DSU) claim and independently calculated the period of interruption caused by the indemnified event. The offshore wind farm matter was settled following negotiation.
